Ulf Jacobs alias "Yacobs" - drummer in the renowned German band "Argos", among others - already has proved on three solo albums, issued in 2001, 2004, and 2007, that he's a reliable creative rock songwriter. On his fourth work, now under contract with MUSEA, he leaps into symphonic rock, presenting us with a 40-minute concept album that clearly can keep up with the songwriting brilliance of his colleagues of "Argos". While the story is inspired by H. G. Wells' science fiction novella "The Time Machine", it doesn't follow its plot, but obviously focuses on Ulf Jacobs' own ideas associated with it. The basic mood of the album is melancholic, with lush keyboard layers played by Ulf Jacobs himself. Among the guests are some of his bandmates of "Argos": Thomas Klarmann contributes bass and flute, and Enrico Florczak plays electric guitar on some tracks.
